Improve your fingerstyle technique on Acoustic
What can you learn in the lesson.
My Guitar Lesson are quite specific and tailored. I know that each student is different and needs a different approach. Sometimes even just a little adjustment can be beneficial. The fingerstyle lesson is usually structured like that:
- Warm up.
The Warm up
When you start practicing guitar, the warm up is an important aspect of your playing. Try to imagine an athlete who start running at full speed without warming up. He will probably injure himself. That could happen to you as well so make sure you always warm up when you start practicing your fingerstyle technique.
There are several warm up exercises I use during my guitar lesson. They are all quite beneficial and will help you to improve your stretch, coordination and control on the fretboard. The warm up is usually 10 minutes long.
Technique is all about Scales and Arpeggio. This is another important part of your daily practice. Scales are quite beneficial for your coordination. When we are practicing fingerstyle technique, the scales will be played with the right hand finger (no pick). This is a great way to get your fingers going on single notes. We will usually start with Major scales then minor, melodic and harmonic minor.
The arpeggios are another important aspect of your technique. I have wrote a book on fingerstyle guitar called Acoustic Steps. In this book you will find a lot of different arpeggio approach. You can check all the info about Acoustic Steps here in one Click!
The pieces are the most important part of your playing. You must put everything you learn into practice and pieces are the best way to do that. It is really important though to pick the right pieces. You don’t want to start with something too simple or difficult. I will make sure your pieces are perfectly suitable for your level. The fingerstyle lessons are quite tailored so, you will be learning easily.

Find the best Guitar Teacher in London
If you want to learn how to play guitar fast you need a good teacher. You can learn many things using social media like Facebook or YouTube, but at the end of the day, you still need one to one guitar lessons. The feedback you can have with a private teacher is far more valuable than practice alone in your room. I highly recommend you find a skilled guitar teacher. Someone highly motivated and with experience. When you see him for the first lesson, ask him a lot of questions. Challenge him. Try to figure it out if he is the right guitar teacher for you.
